Over the years, the workplace has become more international and also more diverse, dispersed, digital and dynamic. Successful collaboration has become more complex and yet, we are all part of one or more teams and need to collaborate successfully. Embracing new perspectives with and within “4D-teams” – as called by Martine Haas and Mark Mortensen – takes courage.
Diversity can lead to more creativity and innovation but also brings many challenges. All teams are diverse to various degrees (different individual background, education, work experience in multiple company cultures, etc). By embracing team diversity, you turn diversity into an asset which gives you a competitive advantage and creates a culture of candor and curiosity.
